The Florida Association of Planned Parenthood Affiliates (FAPPA) seeks an intern to help further our goal of harnessing interactive technologies and social media to mobilize the public in support of Planned Parenthood’s mission. The intern’s responsibilities will include supporting our social networking, blogging, and website initiatives. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Monitor the FAPPA website and update content as needed
• Create, monitor and update FAPPA’s MySpace and Facebook pages
• Develop localized blog lists for Planned Parenthood’s affiliates
• Monitor blog coverage of Planned Parenthood’s issues.
Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Must be tech savvy and have experience working with social networking sites, blogging, text-messaging, and other web-based tools. Experience with these tools does not have to be non-profit or politically oriented, but in-depth understanding is a must. Knowledge of basic HTML preferred, but not required. Interactive marketing and/or political/non-profit experience preferred but not required. Intern must share the values of Planned Parenthood.
